Kushida has been on a tear since leaving WWE in April 2022, working in multiple companies such as TNA and MLW, but has mostly been a mainstay in NJPW with tag team partner Kevin Knight, forming the team of the Intergalactic Jet Setters.

Kushida has been seen as a top star in the company, having matches against Mike Bailey, Chris Bey, and even Steve Maclin for the Impact World Title.
