Mustafa Ali will challenge Chris Sabin for the X Division Championship at No Surrender 2024 (Friday, 23 February), TNA has confirmed.

The match, revealed via social media, follows Ali’s teaser trailers on TNA’s weekly programming, hyping his imminent arrival into the promotion. Continuing along the same path as his other post-WWE ventures, Mustafa was presented in a Presidential-like campaign, proclaiming that TNA required an X factor to shake the company’s foundations. This, in turn, was Mustafa Ali confirming his pursuit of the X Division Championship.

Sabin vs. Ali now becomes the third match confirmed for the first live monthly special of the TNA era, with Moose and Jordynne Grace already locked in to defend their World and Knockouts World Championships, respectively, against Alex Shelley and Ultimate X winner Gisele Shaw. More matches will be announced in the coming weeks, though a glance at the company’s recent television tapings should help piece the card together.

Has Mustafa Ali Signed With TNA?

Mustafa Ali may be targeting the X Division Championship in his TNA in-ring debut, but word on whether or not the Chicagoan has signed on full-time with the Anthem-helmed group is yet to be detailed. The promotion has booked a series of debuts and returns for 2024 already, with Nic Nemeth, Ash By Elegance, and The Grizzled Young Veterans among the other WWE castoffs currently linked with the company; of them, only Ash By Elegance is confirmed to have signed a contract.

Regardless, the Ali-TNA working relationship isn’t a one-and-done deal. Per his Twitter/X booking schedule, Mustafa is booked to work the next trio of TNA weekenders, including the March 8 Sacrifice special.
