No, Jordynne Grace's Royal Rumble appearance hasn't opened WWE's Forbidden Door...

Jordynne Grace was reportedly requested by WWE to enter the women’s Royal Rumble.

Fightful Select reported as much following the reigning TNA Knockouts World Champion making a shock appearance during 2024’s thirty-women fray. Entering fifth, ‘The Juggernaut’ put in a strong showing at just shy of twenty minutes, eliminated by Bianca Belair following a gnarly KOD on the ring apron.

Fightful notes that WWE officials had been in contact with external promotions the prior weekend, contacting TNA specifically for the use of Jordynne Grace in the Rumble. Described as being “easy to deal with” and “accommodating during the process”, Jordynne underwent a series of medical evaluations in the week leading to the Rumble, clearing her to enter the match.

She isn’t, however, expected to join WWE full-time, owing to having inked a multi-year deal with TNA that saw her return to the company at Victory Road last September.

Has Jordynne Grace Opened WWE’s Forbidden Door?

Jordynne Grace’s appearance in the Royal Rumble wasn’t the first time such a thing had happened, as Mickie James entered the 2022 women’s Rumble with the then-IMPACT Knockouts World Championship adorned across her waist. Pre-announced for the contest, the guest spot was initially viewed as a means of WWE extending its arm to other promotions with a view of working together long-term.

However, per Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Wrestling Podcast, that still isn’t the case, despite a second TNA surprise entrant. Taking to Twitter/X, Andrew detailed that after having asked internal sources, he was given the response that there “wasn’t anything more to add”.
