What Caused Pocket-Lining Reunion?

Slim Jim is back for The Royal Rumble. Yes, the powers that be at Conagra Brands (which owns Slim Jim) have reconsidered after previously pausing their business relationship with the WWE.

Deadline is reporting:

Slim Jim has resumed its WWE sponsorship following the exit of Vince McMahon from his executive role at the wrestling outfit’s parent company, the Endeavor-controlled TKO Group Holdings.

Slim Jim, an American tradition for 95 years, pulled out of its sponsorship deal after the news broke of the sex trafficking lawsuit against Vince McMahon. Slim Jim delivers some big bucks to the WWE thanks to its sponsorship deals. While the details behind McMahon's resignation on 26 January remain unknown, some industry analysts believe the threat of Slim Jim withdrawing its sponsorship deal and others advertisers joining suit may have led to TKO-Holdings pressuring McMahon to resign.

Fans can rest knowing Slim Jim is back.

Whatever the reason for McMahon's exit, it's caused Slim Jim to return to the fold:

“After the departure of Vince McMahon, and discussions with WWE TKO senior leadership, Slim Jim has decided to re-enter the Royal Rumble,” the company said Saturday in a statement provided to Deadline.

This is good news for the WWE as it has increased its revenue of late through sponsorship deals with Slim Jim, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and other brands. Fans who enjoy seeing shameless tie-ins such as last year's Mountain Dew Pitch Black Match or SummerSlam's Slim Jim-sponsored battle royal (which rumor has it knocked the Becky Lynch vs Trish Stratus off the show) are undoubtedly thrilled at the thought of what other sponsorship deals they'll get.

What do you think about the return of Slim Jim to WWE PLEs?
