Who is Taking North American Champion's Place?

Time for a spoiler on Dragon Lee's replacement for tonight's NXT New Year's Evil special. The current North American Champion was booked for tonight's special episode of the black-and-gold brand but had to bow out. Dragon Lee informed his fans on New Year's Day that:

The WWE had a big trios match booked with Dragon Lee teaming up with LWO teammates Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro to take on the No Quarter Catch Club's Drew Gulak, Myles Borne, and Damon Kemp.

Now, Fightful Select is reporting:

Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan has learned that Carlito is at today’s episode of NXT and was around ringside preparing to compete. As of now he is the planned teammate of the LWO on tonight’s show.

H/T Ringside News

This is an exciting development for Carlito fans who wondered how long he'd be out after the kayfabe injury inflicted on him by Santos Escobar. Carlito will undoubtedly be looking for storyline payback, but it may not be as easy as it seems, as Escobar has been dominant since turning heel. The addition of Humberto Carillo and Angel Garza to Santos' side also means he has plenty of backup.

What do you think of this latest development in the Latino World Order?
