Time to give these Superstars their due...
It's tough enough as it is to try to become a star in the WWE. It’s even harder to be recognized for your hard work. Over the years, plenty of talent have put in the work and gone unrecognized for it. Without the hard work of some of these wrestlers doing the J-O-B or even showing up, it would be hard to imagine where the company would be without them. So, to honor these hard workers, here’s a list of the top 10 Wrestlers Who Deserve Their Flowers.
‍
Tajiri: Though wrestlers like The Great Muta and The Great Kabuki introduced audiences worldwide to the mist, Tajiri made it famous during his run with the WWE. His great in-ring work, which was synonymous with his hard-kicking style and unique offense, matches with the likes of Rey Mysterio, Jamie Noble, Billy Kidman, and many more and brought prestige to the Cruiserweight Division. He also had his comical side, whether it was him teaming up with William Regal or misting Johnathan Coachman right in the face. Â Tajiri needs to be credited more for impacting the WWE and Japanese wrestling and is criminally underrated.
Lance Storm: Many of y’all remember him for being the man who had a match where Stone Cold called him boring and pretended to sleep through it. The wrestling world behind the scenes, however, will never forget Lance as a hard worker and one of the best wrestling coaches in the game. Many well-known superstars come out of his school, such as Tyler Breeze, Mickie James, Dolph Ziggler, and even The Almighty Bobby Lashley. These days, you can catch Lance producing matches for Impact Wrestling (TNA), helping other stars put on quality matches

In a world of gimmicks revolving around being badasses, cult leaders, and tough guys, having a comedy gimmick is probably one of the hardest gimmicks to get over unless your name is R-Truth. No matter what segment R-Truth was in, you were bound to laugh. His best work comes from his title reign as the 24/7 champion, where he’d get into many mishaps, ruin wrestler’s consummation, and find hilarious ways to make people like Paul Heyman break. He’s the gold standard of comedy spots and is a guaranteed joy to see on our TV.

We all hated the mid-card Vortex that Baron Corbin was in during the late 2010s, but the Lone Wolf has been one of WWE’s most serviceable and selfless stars of the modern-day era. When there is a need to get a superstar over or need for a solid opponent for a filler match, no superstar has filled the role as well as the Lone Wolf. His willingness to work with what was given to him can’t be understood, as he’s partaken in many gimmicks. From Lone Wolf to GM to Happy Corbin, Baron has taken on all of them, good or bad, for the company's sake and other talents. You can never have too many plug-and-go filler wrestlers; few are always serviceable. Baron Corbin needs a round of applause for what he’s accomplished for his career, and his presence shouldn’t be taken for granted.

One of the most controversial stars of the 90s, Goldust has set the tone of being one of the most unique and creative characters in the wrestling industry. The maker of the Shattered Dreams Production has become the prototype of how impactful a memorable gimmick should be. Goldust is well recognized for his creative moveset and the mind games he played on his opponent. Not only was his character unique but Dustin Runnels is known for being one of the best in-ring workers in the business and is still producing solid matches in AEW at the age of 54. He’s also given us memorable Tag Team moments with the likes of Booker T and the Hilarious Golden Truth with R-Truth. If you don’t think Dustin is great, just ask his brother Cody what he thinks, and he’ll tell you “The Bizzare One” should be in the WWE Hall of Fame, as he told others on the Busted Open Podcast.

Montel Vontavious Porter is mainly recognized for his excellent heel run in early 2006 in the WWE, but he’s done much more for the wrestling industry. MVP has some of the best on-screen work and storyline development, making successful stables in multiple companies like Beatdown Clan in TNA and the Hurt Business in WWE. He’s also known for his behind-the-scenes work as a backstage producer later in his career and mostly an on-screen manager for the WWE, working with Bobby Lashley and currently with Omos. Lastly, his work in the ring has been severely underrated as he’s gone toe-to-toe with the best all around the world, having beaten the likes of Kazuchika Okada, Sami Callahan, Matt Hardy, and Shelton Benjamin, and has held gold, including the United States Championship and has the 2nd longest U.S. Championship reign.

As we think of women who were the trailblazers for the women’s movement in wrestling, Sensational Sherri is often forgotten as one of many faces that helped it. Her natural talent as a heel is overlooked as she was one of the top bad girls to grace the squared circle. Outside of lacing up the books, she’s recognized as one of the best managers to grace the wrestling world, being the right-hand girl to top stars such as Randy Savage, Ric Flair, and Shawn Michaels. Ms. Martel was also known for her stiff work, which had many wrestlers believe she could even hang with the male wrestlers in the ring. Not many women could jump off the top of a steel cage fearlessly these days, yet Sherri showcased no fear doing it at Halloween Havoc 1994. If anyone should be credited for jumpstarting the toughness of women in the ring, the roses must be present to the Sensational One.

The serviceable veteran has been gracing our TV screen for over 15 years. She doesn’t get the pop that many other women in WWE do, but she’s had the one thing the company loves: Availability. Natalya has wrestled over 1,541 matches in her illustrious career. She is the true definition of a workhouse. She’s also loved by fans worldwide with her natural charisma and is known as an excellent locker-room leader. All of that, and she’s only been a 2 time Women’s Champion in her career. She may never be the face of the WWE, but she’s one of many reasons women's wrestling is where it is today.

The Big Man from Slypheed, TX, is often overlooked and is just recognized as being “The World's Strongest Man.” He should also be recognized as The World's Strongest Worker for his memorable moments. His feats of strength made him a must-see attraction, from press-slamming Vader, breaking locks and doors of steel cages, bending a frying pan and rolling up like a newspaper, or pulling two- tractor-trailers at the same time for the world record at the AGE OF 42. He wasn’t a slouch on the mic either, as seen in the infamous retirement speech that had the whole world fooled. Add the fact that his “Hall of Pain” run was one of the most underrated runs of any heel big man, as he had some of his best matches with the likes of the Big Show, Daniel Bryan, and many more. There’s more to the World’s Strongest Man than being the father of a hand and being Sexual Chocolate. Look closer, and you’ll see that you had one of the strongest people in the world on your screen and that he gave it his all for our entertainment.

What hasn’t been said about Shelton Benjamin in the ring? Talent. Athletic. “The Gold Standard” of a wrestler. All these fit Shelton in his career. Unfortunately, he wasn’t a top guy due to his mic work and personality. That doesn’t take away from the many moments Shelton has brought us. From his showcase in the 1st Money in the Bank match to his classic against Shawn Michaels to his US and Intercontinental Title Reigns, nearly no matches with Shelton Benjamin have been bad. He’s always been able to produce solid work in the ring wherever he goes. He’s also played a significant part in his return to the WWE, winning the Tag Team Championship with Cedric Alexander while he was a part of the Hurt Business. The talent that Shelton has faced makes him no slouch either, having competed against the likes of Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio, Ric Flair, and Triple H.

Dolph’s career in WWE was one filled with unfortunate luck. When he finally hit the top of the mountain by winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, he suffered a concussion that caused him to suffer retrograde amnesia. While this set him back from being one of the company's top faces, no one can say he wasn’t one of the best workers in the game. He’s also heralded for being one of the best sellers to grace the ring, from making a super kick look killer to taking a monkey flip and doing 2 rotations before hitting the mat. Passionate on the mic and truly being “the Show-off” in the ring, Dolph Ziggler embodies what every wrestling company should look for in a superstar and even a top champion.

From one of the most hated stars in the WWE to one of the most loved (or still hated). Miz has come a long way from being the star kicked out of the locker to change. He’s now one of WWE’s top stars, being one of the few superstars to be a Grand Slam Champion, and recognized as one of the best on the mic. His in-ring work has also majorly improved over the years. From a comedy aspect to a serious threat, The Miz is a jack-of-all-trades that many fans now understand.  His balls are massive, and so is his presence. Miz deserves all the credit for being one of the best superstars to grace our TV and deserves a lovely bouquet for his hard work.
