Details on New Lawsuit

Vince McMahon is being sued for sex trafficking. That's the report coming from The Wall Street Journal, which broke the story today. McMahon was involved in a hush-money scandal in 2022, and according to the Journal article, this lawsuit involves one of the individuals McMahon allegedly paid off to sign a nondisclosure agreement. In addition, former WWE executive John Laurinatis is being sued for sex trafficking. The WWE is also being sued for negligence for allegedly failing to take any action despite knowledge of the alleged illicit activity.

The Journal is reporting:

Janel Grant, a former employee at WWE’s headquarters, said in a lawsuit filed Thursday that she was abused and sexually exploited by McMahon while he was chief executive. She alleged that McMahon lured her with promises of career advancement, and then he allegedly exploited her and trafficked her to other men inside the company.
Grant signed a nondisclosure agreement in 2022 in which McMahon agreed to pay $3 million for her to not discuss their relationship or to disparage him. The WWE received an anonymous tip in 2022 about the relationship and started a board investigation, which uncovered other payments by the CEO to women. Grant’s lawsuit said McMahon stopped making payments under the 2022 deal after the initial $1 million installment. The suit seeks to void the agreement and unspecified financial damages.

More Bad News For Vince McMahon

This news is further bad news for Vince McMahon, who is currently under federal investigation, reportedly concerning the particulars of his hush-money deal. TKO-Holdings issued a statement last September about Mr. McMahon being a possible liability for the company:

‍
“McMahon’s membership on our Board could expose us to negative publicity and/or have other adverse financial and operational impacts on our business. His membership also may result in additional scrutiny or otherwise exacerbate the other risks described herein. Any of these outcomes could directly or indirectly have adverse financial and operational impacts on our business.”

These are allegations and should not be construed as proof of anything. WrestleLamia will continue following this story and as always, presents stories of this nature with the understanding of a presumption of innocence for the accused.
